Aura® by Tornado Gloves
User safety is paramount at Tornado Gloves.
Time, resource and expertise have been invested in developing the Aura® Glove to overcome complex and challenging hazards faced by its end users.
Resistance to cut and abrasion is critical when handling materials such as metal, glass, masonry, plastic, and many others with sharp edges and/or rough surfaces.
We developed the Aura® Glove after recognising that a standard coated glove was often not sufficient to cope with these types of hazards. We also identified the need for a tougher glove that could still offer excellent dexterity and grip.
The Aura® Glove is an industry first – combining the dipped glove technologies of the Tornado Technical Range with a split leather palm and finger reinforcement. The glove has endless safe handling properties where the capability of a standard coated glove is exceeded.
The Aura® Glove gives maximum protection to EN388.
INDUSTRY — USE
Aura® is ideal for any industry where individuals are handling sharp or abrasive materials or objects, especially where there is a need for accuracy, dexterity and precision.
The glove is suitable for (but not limited to) use in the following industry sectors:
- Glass
- Automotive
- Oil & Gas
- Engineering
- Aerospace
- Metal Presswork
- Waste & Recycling
- Construction
- Rail
- Agriculture
- Utilities
QUALITY ASSURANCE
Industrial Safety Gloves are ranked using the European Standard EN388, which grades a glove for abrasion, cut, tear and puncture resistance.
Aura® has the highest level of cut and abrasion resistance available in the marketplace, it will exceed the performance of any other coated glove.
Aura® is graded EN 388:2003 4544, meaning it achieves the top score in each category.
LEATHER
In addition to its coating, Aura® is also reinforced with leather on the palm and the span between the thumb and forefinger.
Leather is an extremely tough material, not only super-resistant to cut and abrasion, but also offering excellent flexibility and grip.
The leather used by Tornado Gloves is a selected grade split scientifically treated to enhance its natural strength and grip. The end result is a material that provides both wet and dry grip of a hugely superior standard, even in oily conditions.
This addition to the Aura glove protects the soft part of the hand that is frequently in contact with sharp edges while still needing to be flexible. The leather acts like a protective yet comfortable second skin.
TORNADO TECHNOLOGIES
The Aura glove coating beneath the leather reinforcement is treated with four different individual Technologies. This increases the suitability of the glove for multiple and varied uses, increasing its appeal to a wide range of industry sectors.
CPU
Clean Polyurethane is our hi-tech, aqua based dipping system which eliminates all residual chemicals and solvents from the glove coating to provide a super-hygienic glove. CPU is great for the hand health of the end user.
HDPu
High-Density Polyurethane Technology is a unique formulation of greater viscosity which naturally forms a stronger glove coating, subsequently extending the product life whilst retaining softness, comfort and flexibility. HDPu is great for durability and extended product life.
Anti-Bacterial
Anti-Bacterial Technology is unique in the fact that it transmits an anti-bacterial agent to the hand during use. This ensures user health and cleanliness whilst wearing the glove.
Glass Industry Approved Technology
Extensive research and development has allowed Tornado to create this advanced technology. Gloves with this treatment are industry approved for handling soft-coat glass with the guarantee that zero contamination will affect the glass at a later stage. Aura® also has an extended elasticated cuff, providing a very comfortable and snug fit as well as additional protection to the wrist.
WHY — USE THE AURA® GLOVE?
This glove is an essential item of PPE for areas where risk assessments indicate a ‘high risk’ of injury by cut or abrasion.
Any business interested in increasing the productivity of their workforce should use the Aura® Glove as it allows the end user to work more quickly, accurately and with increased confidence, for a smoother and faster production, along with a happier team.
The combination of four applied Tornado Technologies plus the scientifically treated leather make the Aura® Glove ideal for multiple applications / industry sectors – it therefore has mass-market appeal.
The superior quality of the Aura® Glove and its robust construction ensures both durability and appeal as an excellent value for money product.
You will not find another glove to match the performance of Aura® for cut / abrasion resistance.
COST IN — USE
‘Cost in Use’ is a term we use at Tornado for the equation that we apply to the cost of a glove versus its longevity. As with all Tornado products, Aura® offers a superior level of longevity, hence justifying a marginally higher initial unit cost.
Aura® is the market-leader and purchasing an inferior glove would equate to a less effective workforce and a false economy.
At the Safety & Health Expo 2017, Tornado Gloves launched a new innovation called the ‘Quest Hand Safety Evaluation’. Here’s how it works…
Introducing our new Mobile Hand Protection Lab
We launched our innovative Quest Mobile Hand Protection Lab in June at the Automechanika show and Safety & Health Expo 2017. If you didn’t visit the shows, we’d like to take this opportunity to tell you all about it.
We’ll bring our technicians to you
Quest Hand Safety Evaluation is designed to specify the correct product whilst controlling costs within a pre-determined budget and encompasses all industrial sectors, regardless of organisation size or hazard complexity.
Stage One
Our Quest Technicians will visit your site in our Mobile Hand Protection Lab, where we’ll meet your safety and procurement teams to define your business objectives. During the visit, a Quest Technician will conduct a full study of your current hand protection usage and manufacturing environment. We’ll produce a detailed report and then propose a Quest Hand Protection Plan within an agreed budget.
Stage Two
The Quest Hand Protection Plan is installed for a trial period at the expense of Tornado Gloves and systematically monitored, with user feedback being key. The Quest Team will calculate the ‘Cost in Use’ equation as a measurement against your budget objectives.
Stage Three
Once you are satisfied that your objectives have been met, the hand protection product/s are implemented. Tornado support this process with training and product monitoring, as Quest is a continuous process designed to keep customers fully informed of product evolution and legislative changes as they occur.
Fast, easy, trustworthy & cost-effective…
Quest happens quickly and our team take care of everything; you can trust in our market-leading product whilst achieving your budgetary objectives.
